So, I made my first leather Midori. I love the thick, textured leather. But I made it passport size, not Field Note size. I already have one this size I love made of denim, so I am thinking of selling this one…

Feels good to have complete a project. My first one for this week of Your Stuff… Use It! (my stuff?). Anyhow. This is one of my favorite styles of books to bind. It’s fast, easy, and I always have the stuff. And it’s a great on to throw in my purse, to use as a sketchbook, note taker, list maker, ect. I did go a bit fancy with this one, and added a layer of pattern paper on the front.
(The colors are NOT this bright in real life, but are they ever? heh)
To make this one, I used a file folder (old or new works fine, but if it’s a gift, I would go with new) pattern paper from Recollections, 20 pieces of printer paper, duck brand duct tape, a couple of green home-made polymer beads (optional and not shown) and some left over green sock yarn). That is it. 3 holes. Sew it up. Easy right?
Are you binding anything this week? Tell me about it! 🙂
Any ideas on what I should/could alter next week?

It is day 3, and 3 cards for me! Whoo Hoo! Hope I can keep this up 🙂 How are you doing using your stuff? (After all, we know it’s Your Stuff… Use It!) lol
My card today is another one where I just used scraps. I grabbed 3 pieces that looked like they went together out of the scrap-box. (I think all 3 are from the Recollections Mosaic Memories pattern paper pad). I mounted them on black card stock (also Recollections (and yes, I know a couple are crooked, I think that is what you get from making cards as 1 AM :P)). The Happy Birthday sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp, and the green is a cheap, generic ink, I have no idea where I got it. I wasn’t happy with the way this one stamped, so I colored over it with a complimentary Prisma Color Pencil, and I like the way it look a whole lot better now. Also, it took the blinding factor off the bright white, always a plus! And the bling is from a package I got at the dollar store here a while back. There are things I would fix, but generally I like it. My inspiration for this one can be found HERE.
So, do you have a card you would like to share? Post it in the comments down below… Did you use anything out of your stash this weekend?
Okay. This one is… interesting. I came across a card I make years ago. And it was capital ‘U’ U-G-L-Y! Ya know one, that hurt your eyes to look at, and made you cringe? Yeah. So I ripped it apart, salvaged what I could, and put it back together. And it is a massive improvement. I still wouldn’t actually give it to anyone, but at least now I don’t feel like I need to burn it… 😉
I made this journal a couple weeks ago. It was my first coptic journal. I don’t know why, but I never make anything for hubby. (friends, family, myself, but not him) Mostly cause when I do offer, he says ‘No, thank you.’ But I had decided that it was his turn. He likes turtle, so I sat him down and made him go through a book of animal patterns. I was not overly surprise when this was the pattern he chose. I am very impressed with my first try. And I hope he is. Maybe he will let me make something for him again some day…
