So, I have decided to work on The Documented Life Project (click HERE and HERE if you want to read more about it…) I was a little late to start, but I am loving it. Combining the art, the journaling, and the scheduling it something that I think I have been looking for a long time. You can start anytime, and you can adapt it to your tastes. The first weeks challenge was Your Door. Here is my interpretation… This was done with watercolor and ink.

So, you remember my heart from yesterday? Well, I finished it! This one kinda turned in to a self-love kind of spread. And, although it’s pretty unlike me, I like this one (crooked heart and all 😉 ) But Effy does have a way of making me stretch myself, and push me out of my box 🙂 And I am counting this one as part of Your Stuff… Use It!, it is an art journal, and I did use my already owned stuff… (notice the rare, unique, relatively new picture you will see of me…)
To this spread I added:
- a picture of me, printed at home on the inkjet (sealed with hair spray)
- washi tape
- more stamped ink
- deli paper
- ball point pen for journaling
- I had a Golden High Gloss Varnish that had come in a multi-pack, and I thought this was a good opportunity to break it out. (and I LOVE the look and feel =D)
- oh, and liquid mat medium to sick on the deli paper…
Words are blurred for the protection of the innocent (or at least me) 😉 So, has anyone else been using their stuff this week? Tell me about it in the comments. Leave me a link… come out and play! 🙂
Hey guys, how are we enjoying “Your Stuff… Use It!” – Art Journal week?
I am multitasking, and worked in my Art Journal on a spread I am doing for Effy Wild‘s BOM/BOD class. This is the week 2 BOM.
In this one (so far) I have used acrylic paint, deli paper, a rubber stamp, black ink, and white chalk stamp pad. I also used a sharpie, charcoal and embossed lettering, but I blurred it out again. (To maintain privacy).
So, have you been art journaling this week? With things you already own? What have you come up with? Leave a link in the comments so we can come check out your page… 🙂
This was my first mandala. I like the colour, and I like it for a first effort. but. Looking back on it, I am proud of it, but see things I could change, and areas I would improve. Will I go back and tweak it? No. I think I will leave it and learn from it, and just move forward. It’s all part of the process, right? And it’s one of those things where I enjoy the process, as much or more than the result. And this is one of them. And it’s fun to see when I can grow from here… (can i start any more sentences with And? sorry 😉 )
What are you looking back on today? how do you feel about it?
