Altered Tool Box

I did it!  I finished my first altered object.  Do you remember the tissue box? Well, here it is now…

It actually wasn’t as hard as I thought.  I used all stuff in my home.  I covered in in white felt, and then in some flannel I had left over.  I glued on one piece of ribbon to hide the seam, and a piece of lace around the top.  I painted 2 pieces of cereal box blue, to divide up the inside.  Then a string of pearls around the top over the lace. And voila!  Kinda proud me thinks.  Already is full or tools and has an honored spot in my craft space. =D

Have you altered anything lately? Tell me about it in the comments…

Purple Ruffle Card

If you know me, you know that I hate purple.  But I had a lot of purple, and I thought it could work well for this project.  And it turned out, this is actually one of my favorite cards I have made in a long time.  I don’t even remember what the paper pattern was, but I am willing to bet it was Recollections.  I used a lacy stamp by Fiskers, and the sentiment was one of the $1.50 wooden stamps from staples.  The lace was a vintage, thrift store find.  The card pattern was off of OWH called The Dimensional Ruffle Card.

Lace Scarf

This is a scarf I made years ago. But it curled in toward itself, so you couldn’t see the lace pattern. So, as pretty as it was, it sat on a shelf for a long time. But then this Christmas I got blocking board. Today I thought would be the perfect day to play with them. And, last winter, I bought the perfect black coat to wear it with. It will be nice to be finished, and finally able to wear it.

Do you have any projects on hold that you could finish? Meant to get back to? Is this weekend the time? What is it?
