NaNoWriMo, Blogging, Journaling, and Blue Hair…

So, today is the first of November, and I have made myself some goals.  The first is to write a lot more.  I am not doing NaNoWriMo per se, but I do want to write more this month, so I am making my challenge to just write MORE every day.  Already kicked off a nice little story today, so I feel hopeful.

The second is to blog every day.  I don’t think I have ever done this, but I would like to see if I can pull it off.  Some days it may be a picture of a finished work, a work in progress, on my pets doing something cute.  But I am aiming for daily (and even I know I am not THAT interesting 😉 ) so we will see what happens…

And third, keep up my daily journaling.  Right now I am on the sixth day of a streak… I slagged off for a while, so I am getting back on the horse… and enjoying the process again.  I hope to keep it up.  Maybe this will keep me accountable.

So, to make this post vaguely interesting… Here is a picture of me on Halloween with blue hair.  I am hoping one day to have this hair…

warm, happy weekend…

Well, Monday is looking like a good day. I think I am on track to finish NaNo today. There, I said it. It’s out there. Now it HAS to be true.

It was a lovely weekend here. I managed to get out of the house a couple times, and it was nice, to be out in the sun, and be able to walk and see more clearly… I really enjoyed it. I am working on counting my blessings these days, and to me, this weekend was a big one.

I did lots of writing this weekend, but it was also a good one for TV and a little drawing and art. I feel productive, but I am also paying for it today. My body is sore, and I am pretty tired today. But one foot in front of the other.

So, something a little different today… when I first lost my vision, I was looking for things to do with my time, as most of my usual activities were no longer possible. One of the things my husband got me was a kit to make animals out of large beads (pony beads) for key chains. I have found a couple pictures of some of the ones I made… so here today’s pictures…

What are some interesting things that you have found to do with beads? Are you on track to finish NaNo this week?

Nov 24th (one day late0

So, NaNo is going well. I am right where I wanna be. Meaning, I am on track to ‘win’, even if the story won’t be finished. But that is ok, cause it has a really good body. It has started to get really snowy and cold here… so other than a trip to the doctor tomorrow, I plan on burrowing in, and hopefully finishing. If not, at least well set up to finish next week.

Drawing is doing ok too. Sometimes it’s nice to take a break from the pressure of writing, and direct my creative energies into another outlet. I have been enjoying the process, of taking one shade of gray, laying it down in different thicknesses. And how a few well placed lines or dark areas make things look 3-D. Here is one of my latest works…

This is one of the earlier ones…

nano- nov. 15, 2012

So, NaNoWriMo 2012 is half way done. And I am pleasantly surprised, the even with my health, I am still right on track for my 4th win. Health actually hasn’t been TOO bad this month. Although, I have had sinus pain the past could day, but I will take it. I have been thinking about putting up clips of my writing, but any of the stuff I think is interesting enough to include here, doesn’t make enough sense out of context. But, I figure I have 2 more weeks, something will come up, so be patient with me…

We lost our heat for 2 days here, which made typing (or anything else…) a long, cold process. We had our carbon monoxide detector go off last week (I am sure I already talked about that…). So, when the gas company came, one of their recommendations was to get the furnace cleaned. So the company we/the landlord hired to do that was here Monday. But in cleaning of the furnace, something came loose, and we lost power. And not only that, the belt came loose, and was ear piercingly squeaky for 2 days. And as I am at home full time these day, it was a major irritation in my life. (now let me just say, I am not REALLY complaining, just recounting the details of a story. I know I could live in new york/new jersey.) it’s cold here, but tolerable,,, just an irritation, and a way I would not have chosen to spend my time. But the guy came back last night, and fixed it, on our schedule (just before dinner) and I assume at no expense. So, I guess no harm, no foul. And hey, I got 2 days of extra dog and cat cuddles from the cold pets.

Here is an art journal page I did a while back, i was playing with some new supplies I had bought… (if you are interested  it says ‘not all who wander are lost…’)

Have you had any unexpected glitches that have come up, and stolen some of your NaNo time? Are you still on track to finish on time?
